The heart-shaped back features a pierced scrolled top rail adorned with carved drapery and paper scrolls. Serpentine arms, embellished with carved paterae and scrolled terminals, lead to an upholstered seat finished in rich gauffraged velvet. The chair stands on elegant cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet.

The piece has survived with superb colour and a beautifully preserved patina throughout.
