An Unusually Large Regency Period Mahogany Window Seat

An Unusually Large Regency Period Mahogany Window Seat

English, ca. 1830

In the manner of Charles Heathcote Tatham.

The seat framed and panelled over a reeded frieze and supported by reeded legs headed by carved paterae.

This window seat or bench is remarkable due to its size, at nearly five and a half feet long. It has also survived in a remarkable state of preservation, retaining a gloriously untouched colour and patina.
